Daytona News-Journal: Legislator receives honor

Friday, June 24, 2011

TALLAHASSEE — Associated Industries of Florida has named state Rep. Dorothy Hukill (R-Port Orange) as one of 18 legislators to win its “Champion for Business” award.

The association credits Hukill for playing a major role in passage of the state’s major property insurance reform package as well as legislation expanding the deregulation of commercial insurance lines in Florida.

The AIF established the award in 2003 to acknowledge lawmakers who have sponsored and defended pro-business bills. This year’s awards are based on reviews of voting records on 146 business-related bills and amendments. The Voting Records Report is posted online at aif.com.
