Miami Herald: Letters To The Editor: Tax reform

Sunday, June 04, 2017

The Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to work with Republican Congressman Carlos Curbelo on comprehensive tax reform.

The proposed House GOP blueprint would simplify our tax system and create a level playing field for everyone, especially small business owners. It would also cut the corporate tax rate down to 20 percent.

Based on one analysis of this plan conducted by the Tax Foundation, if implemented, the blueprint could create roughly 90,000 new, full-time jobs and more than $4,000 in additional after-tax income per household for Floridians.

We need our elected officials to work together and get tax reform done this year while we still have the opportunity. Florida and our nation deserve to bring more jobs and disposable income for small business.

JULIO FUENTES, PRESIDENT AND CEO, FLORIDA STATE HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, WELLINGTON
