Carrie Thompson-Patrick has more than 14 years of experience in the communications, policy, legislative, state government and private industry arenas. During her tenure at CoreMessage, Carrie has managed state and federal public relation campaigns, leading a multi-year effort designed to expand access to trauma care in Florida, including recruitment of public safety and local elected officials to attend workshops, testify and support the effort. She also manages a campaign to increase patient access to their pharmacy of choice.

Before joining the CoreMesssage team, Carrie worked for various clients to promote legislation on a wide range of issues. Prior to this private sector experience, she was the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Florida Department of the Lottery where she communicated legislative and budget initiatives to the Legislature critical to funding Florida’s education system. She was involved in all aspects of the agency’s state contracts and state reporting requirements in addition to working to maximize the profits for education.

Additionally, Carrie has worked for a private company promoting anti-consumer federal and state legislation in the U.S., Europe and Canada. She has also worked for two governor’s administrations, as well as one gubernatorial and one presidential campaign in 2001 and 2006 respectively.

Carrie has a Masters in American Policy and Politics, a Bachelor of Science in Communications, as well as a minor in Political Science from Florida State University.
