Valerie Wickboldt brings a variety of skills to the CoreMessage team. Prior to joining the firm, she was an essential part of the communications team at a leading, youth-serving non-profit organization. Valerie began her tenure at the non-profit as their communications and grant manager and in that role secured more than $2 million in funding. Valerie was later promoted to communications director where she was able to build and implement a comprehensive community relations plan. The plan encompassed outreach to various potential supporters including elected officials, business owners, community advocates, small grantors and professional organizations. As communications director, Valerie worked to revive the organization’s newsletter, arrange development meetings, coordinate speaking engagements, draft donor solicitation letters and facilitate other fundraising and communications tactics.
During her time at the organization, she assisted in the complete reconstruction of the organization’s website which earned a Florida Public Relations Association Golden Image Award. Valerie also helped spearhead event planning and promotion for the organization’s annual fundraiser which earned the non-profit more than $75,000 in gross proceeds each year. Through local media outreach the communications team garnered more than two million earned media impressions.
Valerie has also completed consulting work for start-up company, BevShots MicroArt, LLC where she developed a comprehensive, nationwide PR strategy for the company. Her content writing and assistance with design concepts helped secure a Gold ADDY for BevShots.com, the company’s e-commerce website.
Valerie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Florida State University with a degree in communications, specializing in public relations.
