ICUF PRESIDENT TAKES NATIONAL LEADERSHIP ROLE

– Dr. Ed Moore will serve as NAICUSE’s 2013 Chair –

Tallahassee, Fla. – This week it was announced that current president of Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF), Dr. Ed Moore, will serve as 2013 Chair of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities State Executives (NAICUSE). While continuing to advocate on behalf of ICUF, Dr. Moore’s new leadership role with the national association will give our state valuable perspective as he focuses on working with other states to support higher education students in Florida and across the nation.

“I am truly honored to have this unique opportunity to serve as chair of NAICUSE,” said Dr. Moore. “It is a privilege to be the leader of an association which often serves as the united voice of independent higher education in the U.S. I look forward to continuing a nationwide conversation as we face higher education challenges together and collaborate with our state counterparts.”

Dr. Moore’s new position with NAICUSE is an opportunity for Florida’s independent higher education system to shine. Through its multifaceted membership, the association reflects the diversity and achievement of private, nonprofit colleges in the U.S. Florida’s participation in the ongoing national dialogue positively reinforces ICUF’s commitment to high-quality learning for Florida’s students.

Dr. Moore added, “The work of Florida’s independent postsecondary system is ongoing and the shared educational priorities of NAICUSE members, who represent state organizations much like ICUF, will help unify efforts to improve education opportunities for students across the U.S.”

NAICU staff frequently meets with key political stakeholders, tracks campus trends, conducts research and analyzes higher education issues. For more information, visit http://www.naicuse.net/about/index.asp and http://www.naicu.edu/.
