News Herald: Patronis named Champion for Business

Friday, June 17, 2011

PANAMA CITY — Rep. Jimmy Patronis, R-Panama City, was one of 18 senators and representatives selected to receive a 2011 Champion for Business award from the Associated Industries of Florida.

The statewide business association based the award on scores on the annual Voting Records report. The award will be given in an August ceremony. They are presented to those who have proven to be strong and forceful advocates for Florida’s business community, according to the organization.

Patronis received the award for the second time for spearheading a rewrite of the state’s environmental permitting laws. “Keeping the needs of the business community in mind, Rep. Patronis advocated for meaningful reductions in regulation and greater efficiencies in the system,” the organization stated in a news release.
