CareerSource Florida is teaming up with the state’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Department of Economic Opportunity and others on a series of job fairs throughout the Sunshine State aimed at putting career opportunities in front of Floridians, including Puerto Rico evacuees.

Manufacturing and construction jobs will be highlighted at the events, according to the Hispanic Chamber’s release Wednesday, which noted that the fairs will take place in conjunction with 19 of the state’s 24 local workforce boards.

One of the first will be in Brevard at Rockledge Career Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Other job fairs on the effort’s opening day will take place in Crestview, West Palm Beach and Bradenton.

Construction jobs in Florida rank third nationally for employment, said Julio Fuentes, President and CEO of the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, citing Bureau of Labor statistics. He said opportunities continue to grow.

“Many attractive positions are currently open, and we are proud to partner with nearly 80 percent of local workforce boards throughout Florida in recruiting diverse candidates for these roles,” Fuentes said. “Puerto Rico evacuees, veterans, Hispanics and other job-seeking Floridians are encouraged to attend.”

In Central Florida two more will take place Friday, June 15, in Kissimmee and Orange City. Another is planned Thursday, June 14, in Ocala. Other events statewide will take place through July.
